Pete Bolton's Whiskey Dogs
The Whiskey Dogs play authentic, good time Americana!
Old time mountain music, hillbilly blues, dust-bowl ballads and jug band hokum
are all played in the crazy spirit of the 1920s and 30s by this great trio.
Fronting the band with his powerful, soulful vocals is Pete Bolton who, before
forming The Whiskey Dogs, toured extensively with his previous Americana band,
The Alley Cats, performing at festivals and arts venues throughout the UK and
Europe. They also won international busking competitions as a street band and
took several awards in major street festivals.
The Whiskey Dogs, in authentic string band style, use guitar, banjo, mandolin,
fiddle and double bass to bring a driving energy to their music. Kazoos,
whistles, horns and even a one-string phono-fiddle add a zany twist to their
up-beat performances.
They are equally at home on stage or in the middle of a lively street festival
and are guaranteed to appeal to audiences of all ages.
The Whiskey Dogs promise you real Americana, influenced by legends like The
Carter Family and Memphis Jug Band as well as by contemporary bands such as The
Old Crow Medicine Show and The Carolina Chocolate Drops.
The band can also offer "string band jam" style workshop sessions, and
instrumental workshops in old-time banjo and Americana guitar styles
The Whiskey Dogs new album, "Red Eyed and Dangerous" now available.
